Palami gives ‘Azkals’ one-month break

THE Philippine Football Federation (PFF) will give the members of the Philippine “Azkals” football squad the needed one-month break before preparing for the upcoming series of 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifying in June and July.
Football federation President Mariano Araneta, who is presently in Vietnam, told The Manila Times via text message Sunday that Azkals team manager Dan Palami has allowed the team to have a one-month break to attend to several commitments.
“We are going to focus now for the team’s next assignment which is the world cup qualifying and we’re hoping to sustain the momentum there,” said Araneta, noting that by Wednesday they will know their next opponent after the result of the draw in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
The format will also be a Home and Away just like the previous Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup qualifying stage, where the Philippines beat Mongolia in an aggregate 3-2 score to advance in the group stage.
